The 2020 lineup of the Ford F-150 inventory is just a fine-tuning year for the already perfect truck. Nothing has really changed on the outside, but there are a few upgrades on the trims that weren’t available in the previous year’s models.
For starters, the XLT trim now supports the Power Stroke turbodiesel V-6 along with an optional black appearance package. Moreover, the Lariat model now comes standard with the Co-Pilot360 (Ford’s suite of advanced driver-assistance technologies), and an optional black appearance suiting.
There’s nothing new on the base trim of the 2020 F-150 (XL) apart from an option of an STX Sport appearance package. Lastly, three new colors are introduced – Rapid Red Tinted Clearcoat, Star White Metallic Tri-Coat, and Iconic Silver.
Features and Specs
First, let’s look at some of the safety features in our review of the 2020 Ford F-150 lineup. The truck’s popular safety features are a rearview camera, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, and curve control.

Apart from safety, other features across the trims of the 2020 Ford F-150 are power windows and locks, vinyl upholstery, a voice-activated SYNC infotainment system, and a USB port. Tailgate step, trailer brake assist, MyKey, and BoxLink are also some noteworthy features.
The basic model of the lineup includes a basic AM/FM system. An optional touchscreen entertainment system is also available. The optional 8.0-inch touch-screen panel has incredible graphics and good brightness.
If we go one step up with the trim, the XLT includes a standard 8.0-inch touch screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. Furthermore, it also provides two USB ports along with a Wi-Fi hotspot.
There are a total of six engines available in the 2020 Ford F-150 lineup. First, a 3.3-liter V6 that generates 290hp and 265 lb-ft torque, which is standard in the XL and XLT trims. Next up, the 2.7-liter turbocharged V6 that pumps 325hp and 400 lb-ft torque, standard in the Lariat trim and available in XL and XLT.
The third is the monster 5.0-liter V8 engine that’s standard in King Ranch and Platinum. It’s also available in XL, XLT, and Lariat, with the capability of generating a whopping 396 hp and 400 lb-ft torque. The other two are the turbocharged V6 engines with 3.5 and 3.0 liter available in XLT, King Ranch, and Platinum.
Last and certainly not least is the 3.5-liter high-output turbocharged V6. It pumps 450hp and 510 lb-ft torque – and it’s standard in the Limited and Raptor edition of the 2020 Ford F-150.
